Cumbria VAG 2016

Last weekend we took a quick trip down to Westmorland County Showground, Kendal to check out a few cars at Cumbria VAG. A show dedicated to cars from the Volkswagen Audi Group more commonly referred to as VAG.
Although we’re not typically into “Scene” cars we still like to see what’s occurring. Below are a few images of our brief visit.
08:00, the show cars started to arrive and get checked in. Tom Broadbent’s 1981 MK1 VW Golf which went on to win Best In Show.
John Williams Audi TTRS, personally for us it was the car of the show. Unfortunately our opinion soon changed when we seen it was on air ride.
What an interior! Many cows must have been slayed for this. The attention to detail is second to none.
Mike Whittakers VW Caddy, hands down the piece de resistance of the show. We’ve known about Sleepy Mikes Caddy for a few years now and have been keeping an eye on it ever since we first saw it on a drag strip. 4WD converted with a VR6 bored out to 3 litres this really does encompass “built not bought”. Watching this thing launch is amazing. It hunkers down then forward at a remarkable pace with no drama in the way of wheel spin, truly astonishing.
We can’t wait for next years show!
