Last week we got a call from a local garage saying one of their customers had recently purchased a BMW E83 X3 2.0D and they wanted it remapped. The reason being that they bought it to tow their caravan and it was lacking in power when it came to overtaking lorries on the motorway.

The customer opted for our Stage 1 software:

	Standard	Stage 1
Power	147 BHP	206 BHP
Torque	329 NM	436 NM

First up was to read the cars ECU, this way our software is custom for the car. We had 2 options, Partial or a full read. Even though the full read takes 1 hour 15 mins, we would rather take the time and do a proper job.

Then it was time to write our custom Stage 1 software. This is a fairly quick process taking roughly 10 minutes.

On every car we work on we always use a stable voltage supply to the cars battery. This way there is no risk of the ecu loosing power from the battery.

All that was left was for the customer to take it for a test drive and make sure they left a happy customer.
